Shahrbabak

The traditional motifs have the main border and central medallion in an intricately-detailed, ornate architectural or floral theme in the palest pastels with white-and-gold trim. This typically contrasts with an open field of a rich solid cranberry red, navy blue or other strong colors. Because of their firm double knots and good material they are very durable carpets.

Schiraz

Shiraz, a magnificent oasis city, climatically most favorably located in Gashgai region, is the city of the famous Persian poets. Those residential and divers tribes contribute to a species-characteristic variety of pattern. Floral, stylized and geometrical motifs and typical red nuance with contrasting natural dyes typify the Shiraz carpet. They are made with Persian and Turkish knotting usually in rough weave. This Gashgai Shiraz is qualitatively very fine and particularly durable.

Made by Gabbeh nomads in the Gashgai provenance. Typical patterns are stylized people and animal figures, usually on plain color backgrounds. A little color combination, a rough knotting and a fleecy high pile provide a calm, harmonious and cozy atmosphere. Very popular for children's rooms.

Tarom

Tarom is a small village in Northern Iran. These carpets are typical village production with original nomadic characteristics: mostly geometrical pattern, a large central medallion and bright and lively colors. The quality of Tarom rugs is fairly durable and they are known to last a very long time.

Yalameh

In central Iran, slightly north of Isfahan, lies the town of Yalameh. The finest Yalameh carpets have many beautiful and warm colors and are skilfully divided into a lattice of diamonds that encloses a number of stylized geometrical animal, flower, and bird patterns. Yalameh rugs and carpets are among the best tribal rugs and carpets woven in Iran.

Kars

The city of Kars is located in North East Turkey bordering with Russia and Iran. Fortunately the Caucasians living in Kars have kept up their carpet tradition; therefore the typical Kars carpet most resembles the traditional Caucasian rug. It has a famous originality which is created by working rather imprecisely and thus paying tribute to the beginnings of carpet making.
